News - 4CS, Inc. Announces The Freightliner Group's Implementation of iWarranty Software

EAST MOLINE, Ill., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- 4CS, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent warranty software applications, today announced that its iWarranty software has been selected by The Freightliner Group, a unit of DaimlerChrysler. 4CS said that The Freightliner Group will use iWarranty software to help manage the complete warranty process, from claim submissions through warranty analytics. The iWarranty software will enable The Freightliner Group to continue improving customer satisfaction and product quality while reducing warranty costs.

The Freightliner Group, headquartered in Portland, Ore., is the largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in North America and a leading manufacturer of medium-duty and specialized commercial vehicles. The Freightliner Group produces and markets Class 3-8 vehicles under the Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, American LaFrance and Thomas Built Buses nameplates. The Freightliner Group is a company of DaimlerChrysler, the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.

"4CS' iWarranty Lifecycle Management software was chosen after a series of competitive warranty system demos," said Ron Bush, Freightliner Group Director of Warranty. "4CS' demos were given by professionals who understood the warranty process. A group of our dealers saw the [iWarranty] demo and were impressed! The software had the features and functionality out of the box that closely matched our company's warranty needs."

Bush added, "iWarranty has flexible options that include the standard AIAG universal claim form and VMRS damage coding. These are standards of the trucking industry and items Freightliner wanted in order to more closely align itself with the entire trucking industry and its supply chain."

The iWarranty product directly connects manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, partners and customers in a service network. It optimizes the entire warranty cycle through the integration of the following applications: Claim Submittal, Claim processing, Claim Review and Payment, Parts Return, Supplier Warranty, Purchased Warranty, Warranty Analytics, and Warranty Center.

A critical factor in The Freightliner Group's decision to license the iWarranty software was 4CS' in-depth understanding of the warranty process. This knowledge, according to Ron Bush, "was evident not only by its iWarranty product but also by 4CS staff. iWarranty was obviously developed by warranty professionals who truly understood the warranty process, as it included applications for the complete process including claim submission/processing, parts return management, supplier warranty, purchased warranty and warranty analytics."

Bush concluded, "We expect iWarranty to help enhance our dealer and customer satisfaction with respect to the warranty process, especially since it is web-based with upfront edits to help our dealers efficiently submit the claim right the first time. Automating our internal Freightliner Group claims processing based on business rules will make us more efficient as well."

Ashok Kartham, 4CS President and CEO stated, "The Freightliner Group is the number one company in the North American heavy-duty truck manufacturing industry. 4CS iWarranty is the most robust warranty software solution on the market and together we feel we are well positioned to affect positive change. We are very impressed with The Freightliner Group as both an industry leader and with their commitment to improve their claims process and warranty cost reduction measures. The Freightliner Group, teamed with 4CS and the iWarranty software solution is an excellent combination for success!"
